Oscar Night

This is the first time I actually watched the Oscars all the way through in about six years. I always just stick to watching the red carpet and the first hour of the actual show. But since this year I was invited to an Oscar party, I was determined to watch the entire event! And I'm glad I did because this was the fist year the Oscars didn't entirely piss me off. The people that I thought deserved to win did, apart from a couple of exceptions. Natalie Portman and Colin Firth walked away with awards, as I had hoped; and Trent Reznor won for best original score, which I was pleasantly surprised about. I was surprised that King's Speech won for both director and best picture, not that I'm at all disappointed.

And let's not forget about the Oscars hosts. James Franco and Anne Hathaway were so-so in their roles at the Oscars this year. Though the opening bit in which the two of them were inserted into some of the nominated films was quite funny, the rest of the night seemed forced. I did enjoy
Hathaway's dress changes, apart from her last look of the night in which she was wearing an awful sparkly dress that covered the neck and hit her in all the wrong places. And after tonight, I do believe that James
Franco is a bit of an ass, but what can you do?

And let's not forget about the other ladies of the evening and their incredible dress choices. My best dress choice is down to two: Hailee Steinfeld and Mila Kunis, of all people!! Hailee Steinfeld was absolutely adorable in her princess number, and definitely age appropriate. I was surprised that I loved Mila Kunis' dress so much even though it is so not my style.

And the worst dressed of the night have to go to Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow. I know a lot of people like Paltrow's dress, but come on - she looks like she's wearing a suit of armor or she's about to launch into space. Either way, it's awful. And Nicole Kidman? 'Nough said.
And that, ladies and gents, is my Oscar review! Hope you enjoyed it.

Ciao!
